Your pup is a genuine member of your family, and you want him to have the happy, healthy life he deserves. You would give anything to be able to play and hang out with your doggo all hours of the day, but unfortunately, your professional life doesn't allow for that (which is such a bummer). That's where we come in! Dog's Day Out (aka DDO) is a dog walking company in Grand Rapids, and we specialize in socializing and exercising your pooch through our running, walking, hiking, and pet-sitting services. Your busy life will be made easier knowing that your dog is getting out and seizing the day!
So, how does it work?
Once you’ve officially joined the DDO family, we have a free meet-n-greet where we are able to get acquainted with you and your pup, discuss goals you have for our sessions with your best friend, and go over any questions you might have! 30, 45, 60 minute sessions, starting at $21.
Our walks are high-energy and will have your dog happy and tired! Whether your pup is looking to "power walk" or is more of a leisurely stroll type of doggo, we will match your pet's pace. The walks provide the perfect opportunity for socialization, fresh air, potty breaks, and a chance to get outside and seize the day!
30, 45, 60 minute sessions, starting at $26.
Dogs are built to run, and we can't wait to put some mileage in with your pup! The running session will start from your doorstep and cover surrounding neighborhoods and other natural spaces whenever possible. Each run will begin with a warm-up and then advance to a jog or run, depending on your doggo's fitness level. With the longer sessions, you may prefer us to take your pup to a nearby trail system or park to enjoy an exciting environment, with new sights and smells.
45 minute sessions, starting at $30.
Your dog will get 45 minutes of on-trail excitement, plus the drive time -- whether it's the varying terrain, new sights and smells, or furry friendships that develop during the hikes, your dog will be such a happy pupper! The exercise, mental stimulation and socialization are just a few of the many benefits of the group hikes. While these are group hikes (2-4 dogs per hike), we do offer private one-on-one hikes for your pooch as well.
Concerned about other dogs? No worries there! We are very careful as to how we introduce a new dog to his/her workout buddies. Healthy trail-side treats to fuel the trek are included (with your permission!). The weekly hikes take place at local hiking trails and gorgeous parks. If the trails are unusually muddy or icy, the hike can be moved to a safer, alternative route. These hikes are intended for physically fit dogs, so if you're unsure as to whether your pup can handle the course, we recommend you check with your vet beforehand. Your pup will be safe and happy, as we will watch him/her closely throughout the hike for signs of exhaustion, over-heating or pain. Breaks will be taken to cool down or give your pet a nice drink of water!
Overnight rate starts at $60.
Going out of town for a business trip? Taking a vacation? We'd love to step in and stay with your pooch! Your pup will be able to get walks or runs outside, a whole lot of play-time, and definitely some snuggles and undivided attention. We'll make sure your dog is fed breakfast and dinner with fresh water, along with the overnight company that's provided. You'll be able to travel stress-free knowing that your doggo is hanging with their new bestie and having a blast!
Please feel free to let us know whatever else we can do for your home while we're there; watering plants, retrieving the mail, etc. If you have any special requests, we are more than happy to accommodate them. If you’re not looking for an overnight stay but need a sitter for several hours or only during the daytime, we can offer services that are tailored to fit your needs.
